Don't know for sure if Diablo East becomes unusable sometime soon and will be forced to launch at Rough Canyon.....

I just talked to a buddy with the NPS who said they've been told the lake is going to drop to 1042, which is 75' low and 16' lower than it is now.

They have to drain amistad to fix the dam, supposedly down to the original river channel.

That water is going to Falcon.

Diablo is still fine Ramp goes out deep. Closed portion of Rough Canyon on left side. Old dam at Rough Canyon still way under water. I'll be out this week to look at dam last time last week still deep.

I read the article you posted and I am not meaning to argue with you but as the articles stated repairs have been discussed for years without much of anything being done. Hopefully resolution will come this time but at a price to recreation there.
As far as Falcon yes it will receive most of the water but we all know that it never keeps it for very long. Hopefully that will change some this time.....

The locals I keep in touch with have not heard anything new about this. All they say is they have heard about this for years.
Not saying it won't happen soon.

I haven't found a thing on the web or heard a word from any source saying that repairs on Amistad dam are imminent..

Seems a news release would come out if it was going to happen..

But it is the government we are dealing with..

Just got this response from IBWC.. And I quote:

"Current release is scheduled until Feb. 29, 2024. With current release, level will decrease approximately an additional 60-65 inches."

I guess we'll see what happens...
