Bass Champs rule #15

15. PERMITTED FISHING LOCATIONS:
Contestants may fish anywhere on navigable tournament waters accessible by boat and available to the public, except areas designated as "off limits" or "no fishing" by state or federal officials, or within 50 yards of a competitor's boat which was first anchored (an anchored boat is a boat held in a stable position by a line attached to a weight with the trolling motor in the up position), or within 25 yards of a non-anchored competitor's boat unless otherwise agreed upon by the other tournament angler. The act of moving bass from one area of the lake to another confined area of the same lake at any time, whether or not during practice days or competition days, is not permitted.

I’ve never seen that in the rules.

Not trying to argue with you BUT rule is addressing FISHING LOCATIONS not RAMPS that can be used.

I'm not arguing. I just posted the rule. I don't have an opinion at all as I know zero of the details of the possible issue. Might not even be an issue. I have no clue.

OK....we agree then..... yes

Rule is not specific enough if someone wants to protest...again the way it is written pertains to fishing locations not ramps

I know a lot of Champs teams launch from private ramps in the various RV parks on the lake.

I have done so several times when fishing Champs there.

If it’s the location I think it is, there were 4 boats at least in there yesterday. We wondered how they got in there because the water at the culvert was pretty high.

So by this logic on Texoma a guy could trailer to the Butchers Pen even if at current level it can’t be accessed by boat via water?

We practiced there for a trailering event but couldn’t get from the Butchers Pen to the river channel by water so we ruled it out. Needed a chainsaw and a few hours and I think we could have made it work…

I don't have a dog in the fight, but I would think an area of the lake only accessible from private property would be a no go. If you could get in via a culvert that's one thing, but access controlled by a land owner is another.

I can see a rule being re-written.

if it’s a ramp with public access then no problem. If it’s a private ramp that only a few homeboys have access too then that’s a no go and should have been common sense.

We didn't practice, froze our fingers off and sucked as usual. Carry on. See everyone at Cedar Creek where we plan to repeat but will drink more on Friday night this time.

The spot they are talking about is accessible by a culvert that goes under the road. I have not fished it this year with the water being back up to full pool so Im not sure if you can get thru it or not. Normally you can. Its just a tight squeeze!
