I hearby declare that those guys in Austin open up our piggy bank and start construction on Lake Columbia. Whoever needs to be poked and prodded, lets do this. Cant think of a better time than now for us all to get behind this... and bring us all together. roflmao

maybe TP&WL uses some of that Fairfield money to jump start this, buy their own park, and sell their own lots. This could be a win/win.

I don’t think you’ll find much resistance to more water here! Definitely build lake Colombia and have TPWD BUY land for a park! cheers

It’s the perfect place for a new lake..Beautiful area where hwy 79 crosses Mud Creek… was in an area I had never been the other day.. wasn’t what I was expecting with the land much more open and cattle roaming everywhere and ares of high fence nearby.

West Texas needs a couple worse. Ridiculous what it takes to build a lake.

Retirement best job ever.

In order to build this they would likely have to go back through the federal permitting process which takes time. But as sure as the day is long, there will be a need for water in the cities. So maybe it can happen.

Its going to have to happen otherwise Texas will be in a water crisis. If you own acreage on that map of proposed reservoirs I would be selling sooner than later because between now and 2050 its gonna happen.

Lake Marvin Nicholes will be the next new lake. I’ll be dead but it will happen.

I have a question....why don't we work on keeping the reservoirs we now full?
This IMO is certainly attainable with AI and future technological advancements. Let's move water to areas of need from the areas of excess.

I wish they would have built the lake north of Marshall, Tx between HY-59 and HY-259 on Little Cypress Bayou. That one would have been less than 15 miles from me. I remember the Greater Caddo Lake Association of Texas fighting against it.
