That storm hit the creeks about an hour ago. Expect slippery bank and muddy waters. I was up the creek when the worst of it hit. It was raining sideways. Oh well, caught some fish before it got bad.

I fished for about 30 minutes before that storm blew in. Luckily I stayed close to my car in case the weather turned. I'm sure it muddied up the creeks a bit.

It's both good and bad to get this rain..

A good rise can and probably will put many more fish up the creeks but may not be fishable for a while.

It will make fishing the smaller creeks like Nail, Birch and Cedar better if history repeats itself..

The lake is closing in on full pool level now---

From https://www.swf-wc.usace.army.mil/reports/fly/html/SOMT2.html

Pool elevation is 237.83 feet on 10Feb2024 Time: 1500 hours.

Is it common practice for bank anglers to crowd a spot someone is already fishing with multiple rods out?

Lake Level is 238.10. 0.10 feet above pool. The East Yegua got a 5 foot rise.

It will take a few days for the Yegua to settle down but Nails and Cedar should be great fishing this week. Below is a picture of Cedar creek. Nails was in about the same condition. Good rise, good flow and not as muddy as the last rise.

Thanks for the pic, J-Moe! Looks like the creeks are in great shape. Now if it would just stop raining on the weekends. ๐Ÿ˜„

I was in my boat, 9 bank anglers walked in and started fishing on top of the hole I was in. A very small hole at that. I can share with one or 2, but 9? And then they wonder why the bite stopped after there was a dozen lines being slapped on the water repeatedly. I had a small child in the boat, and of course he wanted to cast his own line, which is always a disaster, so lots of tangled lines ensued. I get it, it's public waters, everyone has a right to fish it, but have a little respect for your fellow anglers.

That's crazy. You must've been upstream pretty far to have been running into bank anglers? Was the fishing not good downstream away from all the chaos?

If you fish at Birch Creek State Park along the beach or near the damaged pier, 20-30 persons fish close to each other. This is why I like creek fishing - no one around you.

Finally might be able to head out there for a few hours on Friday. But there is rain in the forecast, rofl.
