my 6.2 is garbage
2022 with 29K miles and I have blown the engine, new radiator and a boatload of other problems.
Service techs tell me these have been popping like crazy
I would already be in the 3.0 if they were not going to gut me on the trade

Had a 6.2L GMC and went to the 3.0L Baby Duramax in my next GMC. Would make the same decision again without hesitation.

I have a 2021 LTZ with the 3.0 Duramax and it has been a great truck so far, 59K miles in. For what it’s worth I traded a 2013 LT with the 5.3 gas, it was getting about 16 mpg and the new Duramax averages about 26 and about 22 when pulling my 17’ aluminum boat.

Im in a new 2025 3.0, im getting 25mpg mixed and i drive in some traffic every day (this is hand calc'd not relying on the trucks computer). The few trips with no traffic on the highway the truck says 28-30mpg which is just bonkers to me, coming from a 2014 f150 with the 3.5 eco boost. I will actually save fuel costs when getting 9mpg more, be interested to see where i am at after 10k miles on it

On flat ground, I think 28-30 is pretty possible, if you don’t drive it like a race car.
