Yes to all.. and with rain coming the new water will extend the bite and put many more fish up into the creeks.. this is going to be a great run..

Per Nails Creek Facebook, Gate to Newman's is now open. Take advantage while you can, rain forecast for the weekend again

I read where the rain is gonna be a hit or miss thing. So I don't know. But the more the the merrier.

Average guy fisherman report: Skunked (zero fish) from Nails Creek today. Nobody that I talked to caught much of anything today (spoke to at least a dozen people that fished both sides of the 125 bridge: ONE person had a single whitebass). For anyone thinking about going, best to wait until after the rains & when water temperature increases. I don't think we're in the major spawn yet as the creeks would have a ton of activity. Good time to scout, but until you start reading & hearing about people getting limits, best to enjoy the weather in other ways.

Reports seems to be all over the place day by day, so it's definitely not that time of year.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the report. Nails is getting low. Cedar too, I had to walk a long way to catch fish there yesterday.

Fished Newman Bottom for the first time this year. The creek is still messy but not far away. Most people were catching a few fish. I ended up catching 14 today. I had to work hard for them. I'm still having to swim the fly along the bottom in order to catch fish. So of course I lose lots of flies in the process.

There were 23 cars in the parking lot when I got there this evening.

J-Moe has mastered this white bass spawn. I like to talk to him because he understands everything I tell him about water pockets where fish stage and how to present the bait in given holes. Not to many people understand all of the in and outs to this type of fishing. It's not all about where you fish, but how you fish it. There might be a five foot circle where you need to land your bait so it drifts right over the strike zone. J-Moe knows this now, mostly from experience. But it feels good to talk to someone who understands. Go Get Em J-Moe.

Well let's see. Chuck was my mentor for sunfish and Rio fishing. Ben was my fly fishing mentor. And Doug was my white bass mentor. Either y'all are to kind or y'all taught me too well. grin

Thanks for the comments and all the years of teaching me what y'all know, much appreciated.

I explained and showed you the fundamentals and you put it all together yourself. You would have figured it out eventually, I just helped you get there a little quicker is all. But your determination and work ethic is what made you the angler you are today.

Well JMoe.. your "fly casting" needs work but your "fly catching" is like no other I've ever witnessed! You will never starve that's for certain..
