When my current Ultrex wears out I will probably grab the Quest to replace it. I like the looks of the Lowrance best but my boat is rigged out fir Humminbirdand MK so I am keeping it that way. I just had the Blazer dealer rip off a brand new Ghost off my new boat and had them replace it with an Ultrex if that tells you anything.

The head steering noise is extremely aggravating and the pedal is [censored] compared to Ultrex. The arrow indicator is trash too, even with the $300 arrow mod I added. Went back to something that I know is 100% which is why I even passed on the Quest for now. Don't have time for games in the prime months

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I will probably repair my ultrex a couple times. If not more before I decide to change. I think the average Joe will buy what he can afford. Spot lock is a game changer, and I say the best thing added to my boat ever (even over electronics). I know what structure I want to fish, and if I have an unexpected issue spot lock takes control of the boat while I take care of any (phone call, have to pee, broke off, etc) issue I have. I would honestly buy another standare ultrex "if" I had to. Running lithium I'm never going to run two 100ah batteries down in 16 hrs of fishing.

I've had nothing but problems out of them all. Lowrance keeps replacing it and then the new one does the same song and dance. I'm just done with it this time. Stupid arrow indication is useless and makes my AT even more of a PITA to line up accurately and quickly. If i could afford to rip every Lowrwnce item off my boat I would start all over.

I bought one of the first retail ghost sold, it’s been fine. It does require the occasional Calibration and the arrow is a serious design flaw. I think mines going on 3 years, but might be 4. Starting to get a little clunky like my fortrex was. No major problems with it though.
I would think about the PP, but instead of keeping it simple, that had to make it stupid. All they needed to do, was lighten it up without all the extra junk.

I’m still on my very early (first week of availability) gen 1 Ultrex. I’ve replaced a LOT of parts over the years, but it is still going strong and WAY less money to fix vs buying anything comparable.
I have a few friends with Ghosts. Only one of them really likes it. The rest have buyers remorse of some kind.

Had they kept all the external buttons and control panel built into the foot pedal I probably would have bought one as well. Happy I went with the Quest

The quest is awesome. I figured it would be an identical copy to original ultrex but nothing is the same. Everything is more heavy duty.

Still own my OG Ultrex and have not had any repairs to it (knock on wood). Got it within a few months of the product release. Another words one of the originals. Boy I thought I was hard on motors.....used to spend more time at the local troll motor repair shop drinking beer with the owner than fishing Will have to admit Minn Kota did replace the entire unit initially after a few months because of the initial foot pedal issues. From what is being said here I will not hesitate to replace with a Quest......

I have had 3 different Ultrex motors to date. All have been rock solid. I was leery initially as I am hard on TMs but they have held up well. I would get a Quest now but I can't see replacing a perfectly good 3 year old Ultrex.
