I went to the BPS in Katy for the 1st time in quite some while. I needed to get something that day that only they have. I was disappointed to see (IMO) that the fishing equipment section is smaller than the last time I was there. It seems that just like Academy, they appear to be more interested in stocking everything but fishing items. JMO.

They are turning into Gander Mountain. They just have more money.

I can't hardly shop for tackle at BPS, the prices vs what I can do online aren't even close.

BPS (and TW, now) are not discount sellers any more. You can do OK money wise, if you watch their sales. Else better places to shop.

I have an Outdoor World three miles from my house. I still buy a lot of stuff there. Instant gratification.

They seem to be stocking a lot fishing stuff right now, getting ready for season.

BPS has become the Wal-Mart of fishing except they still charge a premium price for their junk.

Their prices are just higher than anyone else. I rarely purchase anything from there anymore.

The thing about BPS is if you need a bag of Zoom Ol' Monster Plum Apple they'll have them. Yeah they might be a dime more expensive but they'll have them... Dan

Last resort for me. They have to cover that high overhead somehow.

I use my BOFA rewards card for everything. I don't buy enough at BPS to carry another card.

I went to BPS in December, Just happened to be in Grapevine, I haven't been in one in about a year because I live in Midland/Odessa. I didn't buy anything. I picked up a can of mixed nuts and the price was $17.00 $17.00 DOLLARS Prices have gotten crazy almost everywhere. IMO

Aren't they supposed to be building one by you.

I have heard that earlier, but nothing about it lately.
