After watching last night’s game, I am convinced that these are not genuine athletic competitions.

Kansas had 18 penalties called against them. More than 200 penalty yards. Well more than twice their season average

. Then, once the game was out of reach…they began making calls against UNLV to make the disparity less striking.

The game was not fixed per se…but the officials definitely had their thumb on the scale. Kansas was enough better than unlv to cover….but were the teams more evenly matched…who knows.

What’s next? Vanderbilt winning the SEC? (Might be a minute)

I thought the refs were a bit overbearing but they must of felt the tension. After the final play instead of shaking hands the players wanted to fight

I remember when a team went to a bowl game they were excited, they were proud to represent their school. How times have changed. Now it is all about them and the money they are going to get either from the school they are transferring to or the contract in the NFL.
I still remember the collage all stars playing the defending Super Bowl champions before the pre-season started. I can only imagine what the collage team would look like now... yikes!!!!!

Maybe it is just me growing older and not really that enthused about sitting for 3 hours watching these games anymore. I do not think it is the 3 hours per-se, I can fish for hours on end and not fill like I have wasted my time even if I am not catching many fish. Its just not the same to me, even the announcers tell us more about what the players are going to do than what they are doing on the field.

Bowl games brought out the best of each team, now we are just seeing the 2nd and 3rd maybe 4th string play these games. I can do that by watching their spring games.

Nope, not a one. There are too many bowls and skeleton rosters.

$ and the portal has ruined post season college football.

Will be even worse next year with the 12 team "playoff". Opt-outs will gut competition.

College football has been big businesses for years. Has always been a breeding ground for pro football. Really can't blame the kids that do what's in their best interest it's not like that school is gonna do anything for them if they get injured and are no longer of any value to them. Only about 2% of football players will play after High School and about 2% of them will play professionally. The average career for a pro is about 3.3 years and if you're a running back it's about 2.5 years. All the risk is on them.

I have been following them but the KU game last night was the first game I’ve watched. I’ll watch the games today and most of the others. The portal and NIL are not going to change my viewing experience.

Oklahoma/Arizona tomorrow should be a good one, they’re both pretty much intact and evenly matched on paper. OU rolls out their hyped up next QB.

I saw guaranteed Rate had their bowl last night. After they laid me off last year, I'm sure glad they can still support the athletics, and fishing, and paddle ball, and UFC, and every other sport.
