Over the last couple of years her little soft mouth purr has turned into a fierce growl. Last few nights have been rough. She is concerned as well. Every morning when i kiss her on my way to work she asks how the snoring went last night. This morning I informed her that the neighbors were prolly going to come have a talk with her as well. My question is has anyone used an over the counter snoring aid with any luck? If you just google it every product on the market says they are 100% effective. I Call BS on the majority but I also do not know. She has tried the nasal strips and a couple other little cheap things with no luck in the past. I know it is not sleep apnea as I have that and wear a BiPap every night. This is just regular snoring. On a side note she is not over weight, by too much, excersises frequently and always has plenty of energy. I go to bed about 9:30 and she follows later. Any Help???

I'm watching this closely...I deal with a similar situation.

How do you know it is not sleep apnea? I am trying to get my wife to test for it...my wife like yours is in great shape and exercises...but dude she is a freight train!

I've personally gotten better at sleeping through it and I know she knows because when I get out of bed, she really gets after it! LOL ... not funny.

Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.

With sleep apnea you quit breathing and then suddenly gasp for air. This continues over and over. Watch a sleep apnea video on youtube and you can see what i'm talking about. It appears that the person just dies and then 10 seconds later is gaasping for air. over and over.

My wife doesnt quit breathing.

My wife and I solved our mutual snoring issues several years ago by sleeping in separate bedrooms. It’s not ideal but it’s set in stone now. When we travel and sleep in the same hotel room it’s game on

First step is to go to a qualified ENT doc and from there a sleep specialist to see if there is an anatomical reason or medical reason causing the snoring. If it is bad enough that it is causing interrupted sleep then be scientific about it.

Good site here but there's others

This. My wife was complaining about my snoring because my nose was always stopped up. ENT said I have a deviated septum and a chit ton of allergies. I started allergy shots 2 years ago and haven’t snored since.

I use the soft foam rubber ear plugs that I also use for sporting clays and skeet.

Works wonders.

I was hesitant to try those. Not because I don't think they will work but i also don't want to miss anu bumps in the night i may need to know about.

Get a white noise machine and put it next to your side of the bed….you’ll sleep right through her noises. ….and thunderstorms….and home invasions. Haha. I have one I set in rain sounds. I can’t sleep without it. The slightest noise and I’m wide awake.

Still have it checked... Once my wife was diagnosed with sleep apnea the CPAP machine took care of her snoring... Dan

This dentist is in Alabama, but there may be one close to you that offers these services.

That said, I would have her first do a sleep study before spending money on anything else.
