got back home yesterday.. stopped off at Shark Valley entrance of Everglades on way home... three ways to get into the Everglades National Park.. had fished the Flamingo and Chokoloskee entrances into the park for 20 years.. never had been to the Shark Valley entrance as there is no fishing... just shallow swamp for miles and miles. Plenty to see and worth the trip to me.. you can hike it, rent bicycles, or take the 2 hour tram tour and hear the official spiel by one of the guys. Great Blue Heron up to 6 foot wingspan Anhinga... will never forget the first time seeing one of these in the water... was fishing from bank and see something big coming out of the depths after my lure.. didn’t know what I was seeing as it looked more like some kind of water monster making the strokes to swim under water, head and neck stretched out coming straight at me. Purple Gallinulle hard to get a good picture of these as they are always on the move The largest crocodile ever seen in Shark Valley area... imported from Flamingo! all of this post pictures taken while sitting in my seat of tram tour. https://www.visitflorida.com/travel-ideas/articles/outdoors-nature-everglades-shark-valley/
