Dad is gone - there are no more "excellent" years. He was my golf partner, fishing partner, jack-of-all-trades consultant, and best friend.

Kids health was good. I am only 38 but had my first adult surgery on my foot and recovery has sucked. Some days I can't walk at all. Mom isn't doing great with dad being gone and her health is not great - nearly constant migraines.

Daughter quit club soccer which created more family time. Son played on a different football team and they made him a QB and they went undefeated and won the league. Wife is stressed in her 2nd year as assistant principal. Has a shoe-in principal job after next school year but doesn't want it because it's elementary. I've tried to tell her it's a short term gig til she can get a district admin role that pays more and deals with parents less, but nobody listens to me.

Kids and I fish night time docks for sandies 3-4 times a year and that's about all the fishing I do. I golf once or twice a month. Picking up a duplex to continue our real estate investing, which makes our 4th and 5th doors. Work is work - like my job but big companies suck.

Average to below average I guess

Was a slightly below average year. My mother passing 2 weeks ago put a damper on what’s left.

I am truly sorry for your loss!! You are in my prayers.

I lost my Wife of 29 years in 2022, my Brother In Law a month later and then my Dad in February of this year. I am a true believer and know that They are with God and I will be with Them someday. So honestly this year has been pretty good overall. My health is good except for a Moh's procedure a few months ago. My Daughter is doing great in RN school. My Son and Daughter in Law are pregnant with my first Grandchild. My Mom is Doing good and adjusting without my Dad. I'm not rich financially but am doing good. I have great Family and Friends. I am continuing to study and grow in my Faith which brings me great joy. I am blessed.
I will truly pray for all you guys to have great years going forward. I love you all....there's some truly great people on this forum!!! GOD Bless You All!!!!

I would agree with this.

I also spent more than I think I ever had. 2 family vacations & 1 adult vacation adds up pretty quickly. Just the day to day stuff is expensive.

Rangers won the World Series.

All in all, we're healthy as far as I know, we've got a roof over our head and food in the fridge.

We're blessed & it was a good year.

Overall pretty good. I was supposed to start reducing my part time work schedule this year but that didn't happen. I give virtual IT mainframe lectures to large corporations. About everything I make working part time is gravy money. My wife got new windows, new Jeep and a new iPad. I got live scope. No major health issues. The only negative is that I'm concerned about where we are heading as a country.

The good news is my health is great and I made 2-3X what I normally make in a year. The bad news is I'm in the middle of an expensive, senseless, and unexpected divorce. Tough to even type those words out. Sad times to be honest. Tough on my kids. Tough on me. I'll go with the worst year ever option.

Really hate to see this about the marriage Josh-

Nothing good about a divorce, especially if you don't want it. Just try to do the kids right.

2023 was good. Hoping for a great 2024 after a below average 2020-2022 run.
