I've gotta a Fortrex, no poles and I called Humminbird and asked them why they didn't put a flasher screen on their fish finders about 10 years ago... All a use my graphs for is depth and water temps so I'd be more than happy to go with a Super Sixty on the console and bow with a temp gauge... Dang, I coulda saved at least $1500 when I bought my boat... Dan

My Helix’s had flasher screens. Lol. That must have been your idea!

I have a 9” too, but it doesn’t have a flasher.

If I'm not mistaken I had a Humminbird 999 and 859 that had the sonar screen. When I went to the Helix 10's I couldn't find the sonar screen so I call Humminbird customer service and they told me, nope new Helix units don't have it... One 10 is a 2013 model SI and the other is a 2017 or so DI... Dan

From the Helix manual. Must have Ice Fishing mode turned on, otherwise you only have RTS window.

There are guys that want ffs because it helps them LOCATE fish when others cant, but they want the tournament to have an off limits period before the tournament because that will allow someone else to LOCATE fish when they can’t .

FFS helps with finding fish without having to drive over them to see them on your screen which helps the angler to be more efficient because you can see if fish are in the area or not. You are not wasting time casting blindly to areas that have no fish. Great for dock fishing. I use mine to locate fish and then I fish for them like I have always fished. I do not stare at the screen at that point because I know they are there. Now it is up to me to catch them. Simple as that. FFS is a great tool, along with spot lock and 360.
