Why do you think everything these days is over priced compared to a few years ago??? Because people are willing to pay crazy prices for everything and businesses just keep going up on their prices. People need to learn how to negotiate. Shimano has a new rod on the market and it is $880.00. Crazy. I am not knocking the boat, it may be a great boat and it appears to be, but how does a $100,000+ boat help you catch any more fish than a $30,000 boat. Im talking about the boat, not the electronics on the boat. How does an 80K dollar truck get you to work any better than a 30K dollar truck ? I am guilty, I like the finest things I can afford, just the way it is. I put about 20k miles a year on my truck. If I’m spending that much time behind the wheel I want all the creature comforts and tech available. My boat on the other hand may get used once a week or so. I can live with it being 6 years old. When I retire in a year or two I’m going all out on a new one. Define "All Out" Not out of the question if I move to the coast but those 450’s are so yesterday. 500R’s for the win.

My iKon LX21 runs 67 - 69 mph all day long and it's loaded with electronics. A lot of the speed issues people are seeing is due to improper jackplate settings and lack of battery weight when they switch from AGM to all lithium. It's a 21'10" boat with a 98" beam. Hull weighs approximately 2,100 lbs, so not that heavy for such a big boat. However, if you throw the center of gravity off by loading the front with electronics and take all the backend weight out, it will cause a loss of speed. The LX20, at 20'10" long is less sensitive to battery weight because and most are running around 70 with a normal tournament load.

I’m guessing mostly broke people are the ones complaining about the price and speed of the Ikon. I don’t think so. I think people are resistant to the koolaide. Ok, a new expensive boat brand is now koolaide, that’s a new one. It’s not a boat I would be interested in but judging by the comments, it’s price tag is what triggers most. The target audience for the boat has got to be retired people. They are a big sled. Imagine tournament fishing and running to your first spot and get passed by a ranger. Lol Jacob Wheeler probably doesn’t give 2 cents who passes him.

This boat isn’t a 100k boat because people pay it- it’s a 100k boat because people want a fancy boat with all the fixings. These boats don’t just magically drop in price by half if the market slows, they just quit making them and start selling cheaper built models.

I don't get involved in a man's wants. If a man wants something and has the ability to pay for it that's his business. I don't want a boat that goes slow so it makes no difference to me. This. It’s not even the price. I just don’t want a 60 mph boat

I think i will wait till they are $200,000+ and then start looking at one. Always room for improvement so I want to see what the updated version is like.

Just wondering,,,,do owners of the Ikon boat also have a $30,000 Rolex watch that gives you the same time as a $30.00 watch.????

I wouldn’t buy one, but I still think they are nice and it’s childish to bash a guy that decides to spend his money on one.

Tents don't have running water, toilets, air conditioning and heat. Boots are too slow and will take too long pulling your boat to the lake,,,,, wheels are better. Do you live in a tent since you think it is just fine???? I don't think living in a tent is just fine.

I could’ve bought one and did give them a hard look. Spent a lot of time crawling around in it at Sartins. It just didn’t wow me enough to spend $130k minimum. Boat is very well built but other than that, nothing just jumped out to me. As far as the extra width up front. It was a flip flop total. So about 6” on both sides. But the hips stick out where I don’t need the extra width anyway. But I honestly felt that there is no way in this economy right now, that you can come anywhere close to making $130k back after 2 years. So we ended up going another direction.

There was a time, not all that long ago, when it was ok to have an opinion that was “different”. Now we just call it jealousy! I personally wouldn’t spend that much money on a boat, especially one that’s really ugly, but then that’s just me. I do hear they take “asphalt” pretty good!😎

I seen one for the first time this week at the lake. The owner was nice enough to let me look it over. I don’t know how it handles on the water but looking at it, it looks pretty sharp.
