A new or new to me 30-06 or a .270

Beautiful wooden stock

Beautiful bluing

Bolt Action

Weatherby, Remington, Ruger, maybe Winchester.

Something to really be proud of. Haven't really seen anything over on THF. Can someone point me in the right direction?

I get that bug every once in a while too... walking the gun shows I'll come by a old Remington 700 and think about buying it and sending the action off to be trued, then a custom barrel shop to spin a new heavy stainless match grade chambered in 7mm Mag, then drop it in a new McMillen stock, glass bed it, drop a Jewel trigger in it...but then I talk myself out of it because the dude at the show wants an arm and a leg for his old deer rifle and all I want is the action... LOL. good luck, hope ya find what your looking for... thumb

Sako uses beautiful wood, as does Weatherby.

I don't see too many Sakos here. The one on that site sure is beautiful though. However, I haven't looked at guns seriously in some time.

I can help you spend your money!

These are also beautiful. (Scroll down to the wood stocks)

Exit: disregard this one, went way up in price since I last looked at them.

That's really what I want. My very first rifle I bought myself was a stainless 700 on synthetic stock 270. I don't have that rifle anymore for reasons I'd rather not discuss right now.

Someone either here or the THF had a real pretty feather weight Winchester listed the other day, you probably saw it.

I have a Winchester model 70 .270 with a synthetic stock and cheap optics. Its stone cold deadly.
