The Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) is holding their largest national championship tournament this week in Farmers Branch. It’s about 1 mile from my house. It is quite the spectacle for our town. Saw the celeb tournament last night with Dirk, Scotty Shepler, Marty Turco, JasonN Kidd, Tony Romo and even Luca showed up. Tons of people. Tons of fun. First time I’ve seen a game played and must admit, I might have to try it out. Come see us this week.

Apparently, two hours of pickle-ball was part of Matthew Perry's evening before he slipped into his hot-tub.

Blessings.

So many of my clients aged 45 and older play this game...I'd say it's in the 80 percentile for that age range. I'm all for it if it keeps them active and they have fun. But dang, Jason Kidd and Dirk just don't seem like they should be in the age range to play it. I feel OLD!

I like the soccer ping pong better. Or pillow fighting.

Wife and I are looking at painting the drive way, mine is the exact width of pickleball. They sell the nets for 100 bucks.
I may start smoking chicken and plying ball at my house. OT tournament?... There are 4 courts a block away, but it is like 5 bones an hour or some such....

Thank you for this. I will now avoid in my 49 years here. Curling does seem safer.

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.

Interesting, a sport named after some guy's dog and its ball.

It's a blast - I've been hitting the Grapevine location a couple times a week just playing in open games.

And you learn to not judge a book by its cover - the most out of shape, non-athletic looking people will surprise you with their skills.

There is a girl team there that is hard to beat. One is tall and skinny and the other short and pudgy. They will run a court for the 2 hr open sessions - doesn't matter who they play.
