He knows how fast they can score. 2 outs in the 9th inning. They could hit back to back homers and still be 2 runs down. Giving the opponent another look at your closer so they have a better chance in closer/future games makes no sense. Running your closer out there after he pitched last night and you hope you need him tomorrow in a blowout makes no sense. Bochy has mis-managed a bunch of stuff. Team winning in spite of him rather than because of him.

Was this win more important to the Rangers than the loss was bad for the Diamondbacks? It was bigger for d backs in making the scoreboard less lopsided. Makes them more dangerous tomorrow.

Was this win more important to the Rangers than the loss was bad for the Diamondbacks? No, this one was more important for the D-backs. Losing to a team missing their best hitter when they were down 2-1 going into the game....this was nearly a must-win for them. The first team that loses a must-win is usually the team that loses the series. But we've been a lot closer than this before. Still need one more win to be crowned.
