An oblique strain affects the abdominal muscles and it hurts when you twist your body at the waist, like when you're trying to smack a baseball. He can't pitch hit like that. shoot him up with cortisone and morphine and whatever else it takes So let him hurt and just not know it? Not a good move. Let Bochy come up with a plan A2.

Obliques and abdominal muscles do not respond to cortisone and other blocks that way…it’s not a joint.
The foundation of the pitching motion is anchored by the core…a much more debilitating injury than a knee or ankle…you could just shoot those up and have good results…. won’t work nearly as well with obliques/abdominals.
