I quit buying milk at WalMart last year. I was in there last week I bought a half gallon thinking I will use it well before the expiration date. Big mistake. It started to taste off 7 days before the date on the carton. I have been buying milk at Kroger and even their reduced price milk will easily last to the expiration. I won't be buying WalMart milk again.

All milk is hit and miss, I have had WM milk last forever after expiration date, I think it's the way it's packed and shippped and how hot it get on the transportation.
Lately I have have Oak Farm not lasting long after expiration date, usually I can get 2 weeks past expiration date and still taste good.

We can’t seem to get milk that lasts to expiration date anymore- maybe it’ll be better in the winter?

Went to organic milk 6 months ago, it last so much longer, look at the expiration date you are in the store next time, it's like 4 weeks or more. I've yet to have one go bad on me.

I buy a 1/2 gal. at a time, go thru it in less than a week.
all mine comes from wally world and I can't remember the last time any went bad.

We had this issue when we first moved here and experienced our first TX summer. We were going through bread / milk fast due to it going bad before using it all. One day, I decided to buy several of those larger insulated food bags. This helped save our groceries significantly. It allowed us to pack them into these bags while in the store to reduce the "shock" of leaving a controlled environment then being placed into a hot trunk, car seat, or back of a truck.

I'm convinced it's how the product is handled and stored from the dairy, delivery truck, unloading dock, and finally to the store display refrigerator.

I am 35 mi. from wally world and use a 30 qt. igloo and the n'ice we all bought. made a quick stop in aug. that ended up with 3 frozen pizzas, 5 pot pies and some frozen lasagna. no coolers, pizza all thawed (didn't kill me when I ate them), pot pies were getting thawed and the lasagna was pretty much fine under the pot pies. learned my lesson. not unusual to take 45 mins. to get back to the fridge.

Aldi has good milk at a reasonable price, Braums is probably the best but more expensive.

We've learned to really check things from WalMart that are dated. Too many items are too close to the date.
