Ours is every bit as big as the one in Bob Davis' picture... It has bumper crops every other year... This is an off year... Next year... Dan

How could you chop down a tree like that?
I thought we liked nature

With a chainsaw.

Fishing, a man knows a serenity of soul and peace of mind that he finds in doing nothing else, and it makes no difference whether or not he catches anything. The mind of a true fisherman is not on petty subjects.

good for you
those trees are irreplaceable

if they didn't clear cut every development in town
it could be different

I literally spent 3 months picking up acorns every year. A giant oak tree in front yard of Flower Mound home made me wanna move out so I did. I've never been so relieved in all of my life. I bet I averaged 5 full trash cans, the big ones, full to the brim every year. I was anal about my acorns. I owned them by February, but they whooped my azz from Oct-Jan. Bob, you did exactly the right thing. RIP, Red Oak!

I have a giant burr oak in the back yard. In the 30 years I've lived here I've never had a more than a couple of acorns a year.

My wife sweeps acorn off the driveway every day, I donโ€™t see the point. She will be sweeping and one will pop her in the head. I say see, the tree is trying to tell you something.
