I was watching the game when Robin Ventura charged the mound when Nolan was pitching. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2023/10/full-6989-202105-nolan.jpg)

To be fair, whenever a batter is hit by a pitch the batter should have the option of tossing his bat from the batters box at the pitcher who must keep one foot on the rubber (subject to bat pitch clock rule).

I'd bet Dusty made the call to plunk him. I bet so also , and they should have run Bakers butt off the field sooner than they did he was stalling in the dugout imo.

Awful. There was no way that was intentional at that point in the game. Rangers fan all the way too. I agree with this.

Houston is making a mistake tonight by starting Valdez.

Abreu appealed, so he was able to play. When will the appeal be heard and when will the suspensions take place if it is upheld?

Critical game 5 of the ALCS, your down by 2 in the bottom of the 8th and your going to intentionally put a guy on cause your butt hurt over the actions he displayed on a HR earlier in the game? Just doesn't make since too me. Plus #1. Just cause it doesn't make sense doesn't mean it didn't happen.

As a Ranger fan, I would have drilled him too after the display he put on after the home run. I don’t know who wouldn’t have expected it. I kinda feel that way as well. Too much in my opinion I Was not intentional but it should have been. Garcia acted like a punk, we will give him a break seeing how he got to watch Altuve round the bases for the win without acting like a [censored].

I was at the game. 100% intentional. Been playing and watching baseball for 35 years.
You could see Maldy watching Garcia at the end of the homer. The pitch was the first pitch of the AB, and it was straight in his back. Garcia bowed up to Maldy and Maldy started bowing right back up to him to let him know it was on purpose. There is 0% chance it wasn't intentional.
So if a pitch straight at Garcia was 100% intentional, what do you think about one from Chapman that was behind McCormick? Did that one deserve an ejection?

He is known to be wild when he throws as fast as he can. I heard them say that pitch was 104mph. I believe tonight they said Abreu hit two people all year. Plus there was no friction between Chapman and McCormick or the teams at that point. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/rM2CtEZCnv0?feature=share

Only the pitcher knows. The 6 umpires all concurred it was intentional so suspension upheld to the start of next season as it should be. Regardless of how a player 'acted' both teams pimped HR's and defensive plays all series. It was bound to happen and when you have a situation present itself (Cuban on Cuban) the immediate situation of the game goes out the window. Fridays plunking may have been out of frustration but last night was bush league and not smart on the part of Abreu. Look at the precedent. Abreu had hit only 1 other batter all season and he hits 2 in the postseason? MLB pitchers can hit an aspirin with a 4 seam fastball from 60' 6". Both pitches that he hit opposing batters with were 4 seam fastballs and were not close to the strike zone.

Anyone who thinks that was not 1000% on purpose is tripping. Of course it was. As far as the two game suspension I say good! Remember when Joe Kelly got 3 games for NOT hitting Correrra and throwing at a few other trash-tros but not hitting any of them? Still the best exchange ever... Kelly throws at Bregman, misses him. Walks him. Throws at Bergman's ribs a few times while he is over on first... you know. Keeping him on his toes. Maybe trying to hit him in the ribs? Who knows. Sure had him thinking he was going to get hit. Someone from the Trash-stros bench yells at Kelly as he walks around the mound (this is pre pitch clock and no fans in the building), "Get on the mound and pitch you little fu***er" Kelly throws at Corerra and spills him. Comes back and strikes him out because he (Corerra) is pretty sure he is going to hit in the head so he is not really into the AB at that point... if I thought 101mph fastball might very well be coming at my head or ribs, TBH I would be out of that AB as well. Strike three- Kelly- That sh** is easy. That sh** is fu**ing easy." Corerra- Oh yeah!? Next time throw your fastball bi***" Kelly- "What? Oh yeah. I'll throw my fastball right down the middle so you can you hit it. Bi*** shut the f*** up and sit down" Then the benches clear and Corerra explains to Kelly that if he had hit a homerun, he would have been running the bases? IDK. That guy is not normal. But still.. #Never Forget But yeah if Kelly got 3 games for NOT hitting someone... This two games is fair, or at least somewhat consistent. Kelly was and is a punk.
