I just did a year end update on the ramp situation, including a photo of the main ramps current condition. You can read it here: https://www.change.org/p/deepening-the-boat-ramp-at-decker-lake/u/33124887

You can still access the lake to fish as long as you are fit enough to carry a kayak or another craft down to the water.

Sent Austin Energy a long winded email today. I'll be surprised if they respond!

I personally don't think that the powers-to-be care what the public wants. Haven't they already stated that there are no plans in the works for doing anything to the ramp?

No, they have said the opposite of that. PARD said they are committed to improving the ramp during the drawdown. They have responded to everything I have ever sent them. Austin Energy never responded.

Well good and hopefully, I stand corrected.

You could help the cause by contacting both Austin Energy (I still haven't heard back from them) and the City of Austin Rayzor! We need people of their arses or nothing will change!

Latest photos (12/21/2024) from Jeremy at Austin Bass Fishing of the side-by-side ramps and water level situation. Wouldn't be difficult to get to work on this now at this water level. Would be easy to deepen with heavy equipment and pour an extension. You can read his fishing report here: https://www.austinbassfishing.com/threads/decker-12-21-24.75001/?post_id=543136#post-543136

Thanks for the updates Amistad. Do you know how much lower they need to go for the work on the dam?

Guessing another 3 feet. I think they want it down 6 feet total.

Looks like steel bars (rails?) protruding above the bottom on the right side of the ramp. Maybe the concrete deteriorated over the years. Have hit my prop over on that side of the ramp twice, both times requiring repair at Nettles. I know many others have damaged their props on this ramp. Guessing that is what we were hitting.

Hard to believe they let anyone with a trailer use the right ramp. It just drops off. It should be kayak only.

Hope to get out there and take some close-up photos.
