We talked to him a bit as we fished and as we were leaving I told him to have a good day. He replied that no matter how it turned out it would be good because he had been squirrel hunting all week.
I realized right then and there that he had the secret to life figured out. When you are just happy to get to go squirrel hunting that nothing else can bother you then you are living right.

I made a lure retriever from an alumiinum retractable golf ball retriever that I carry in the boat. As I was getting g it out of the locker it just let go on its own.

Still working. We went to a 48hrs on and 96hrs off schedule so it's nice. I was set to retire but the job got fun again plus I'm on the best crew I've ever been a part of so I'm gonna keep showing up we until I decide I don't want to. The first 20 years I worked on their terms. Now tgat my oension is qualified for I'm working on my terns. As long as it stays fun and I am in good health I will keep at it.

Fishing was good. We found right quality and right spots. We had execution issues in landing them during the tournament which cost us some money. We rarely lose fish but we just had one of those tournaments where it was our turn to lose some. Lost too many at the boat. I hate saying that but it was all on us. No excuses. We wanted to win back to back championships but it was not meant to be.
Still had fun and learned a lot though. Anytime I get to fish with my brother from another it's a good trip... cheers

Lifeboats from ships. Not sure what the Cajuns are using them for?

Those are lifeboat/escape pods from offshore drilling rigs and production platforms. I've been in many of them over a 38 year career working offshore.
