I find extremely funny how many of y'all make Todd out to be the bad guy. Trying to put any blame on Vistra is just moronic.

We are just having fun.. not knowing exactly how this deal went down. Unlike Team Allison (you, alice, and wawi), who all seem to know exactly what folks were thinking and saying in private, we just want to fish. Funny how now that we know its wuhans putting up most of the money, how the tables have turned and you guys are now the communists instead of the clockpunchers.

I believe the honorable way is for the state to go and negotiate a deal with Todd, if they have not burned that bridge down yet.

Its not like they have not been investing in the US for the last 50 years? How would you want it for the countries that now spend their large trade imbalance on properties in the US? Buy McBurgers?

Sounds like the state tried negotiate a deal and the honorable greedy Todd wanted more than the however many million were offered for his planning and financing costs, .. He had to of known it might come to this.. and seems willing to take his chances to win or lose in court. Now he is just trying to stick it to you, a Texas taxpayer... and I guess there are enough of you that think the honorable thing to do is just bend over... cant believe wawi is on your team.

No problem at all with any country trying to do the deal... but in this case it was the wuhans. Hell if they can buy your partys president, why not a lake property.

I personally would have preferred the Canadians were involved... those cheap bastards would have been thrilled at a lessor deal.

They may have hired a similar web site designer firm. Those web page designer firms tend to use similar programs and similar verbiage and just copy and paste fill in the blank cookie cutter churning out websites.

The state had a free ride. They knew it was coming to an end, or should have figured it out real quick when vistra pit the place on the market. They could have made offers and got in the game. They instead waited till Todd had done his due diligence, gathered financing, made an offer that was accepted by vistra. They tried to interfere with the offer, vistra should have been pizzed at that point. Todd rejected the offer and proceeded with his plans. He closed on the property and started work. There is one person in the scenario here that acted accordingly, the state has acted like a petulant child. The time for the state to have negotiated a deal was with vistra during the year or so it was on the market. This isn't complicated. I get you want to fish. There are dozens of other lakes there and you should find one you like, or pony up and buy a lot.

It seems to me you personally know some of those involved from TI.. so I understand where you are coming from... cheeseburger, chesseburger... Allison on the other hand seems to be interviewing for a public relations job with them.

I don't know a single person at TI. My moral compass goes beyond my desire to fish somewhere and I'm a huge fan of property rights. If they state had acted swiftly, or got ahead of this they could have got a deal done before it ever hit the market, before TI had a chance to buy it. They knew the lease was expiring. They had a free ride and it came to an end. It's fairly simple concept. I like the lake, I have caught some really nice fish there. I enjoyed the times I went there. But......right is right. The state has behaved poorly.

Why is that so hard for some to understand?

The best posts on this thing come from the locals who spent too much time at the coffee shop out there and inhaled too much coal dust. To quote my son, "listening to them is like taking financial advice from a homeless person". It just makes you dumber.

I actually think the money could be better spent on building Lake Columbia... in Jacksonville... send those china men over here and lets get the ball rolling..
