Carp fishing this morning on one of the prettiest flats on Ray Roberts and that makes me the kind of happy you can't buy with money.

Thanks for pictures you post. Brings back lots of memories of where I saw you years ago. Good to know you’re still on the lake and loving it.

Some people go to church and think about fishing. Some go fishing and think about God.

Thank you Lindy!
When I first figured out how to catch Carp on a fly rod back in the early nineties was some great times for me. I had a job that afforded me some days off during the week. I had just met my wife and love was new. I had a buddy that I worked with that loved to fish wasn't scared to be seen fishing for Carp on purpose. I work evenings now and still have some time during the week but I have to cut early to go to work. Still have the same wife and life is good. But, my buddy was killed in a work related accident. I miss him dearly. We spent a lot of time chasing Carp on those flats together and he helped me with the original design getting my boat rigged out as a poling skiff. So, going out there now always brings me back to my happy place. Lots of good memories for me out there.

I've marveled at the water clarity on Ray Roberts for a couple years now (even clearer than years past), and I can only guess that the unseen zebra mussel population is doing quite well. Maybe it'll rain a little this week, and muddy the waters!
