find it hard to throw away if the rest of the rod is good.

Can you do anything with the base of the rods? What do you guys do?

Use the rod as white bass attractor to whip the water? I use the end the reel goes on to put and old reel on and plug knocker

Mostly cut them up and throw them away. Used one cut way down with an old reel on it for my lure retriever set-up

Fly Swatter

I have all the same rods, so when I break one, I strip the good parts off and use it to fix others. Guides, reel seats, cork are almost all interchangeable with my Falcons.

I never pass up a broken rod at a trash barrel by a ramp. I take them home, carefully cut off the guides and tips(rare), and add them to my ziploc bag full of rod hardware. When I have a guide failure, I almost always have something that will fit. I've become adept at attaching, wrapping, and epoxying guides. I don't use Flex-Coat, just JB ClearWeld epoxy. Not pretty, but the fish don't really care what your rod looks like. The inventor of Flex-Coat, a chemistry professor, is the father of the two brothers that started and run YETI. I guess success is hereditary. I keep a few pieces of rod tubing to use for odd jobs. They come in handy. My kayak flag stick/light pole is an old rod tube. Of course, I'm old and cheap! IslandJim

Add me to the save the guides list, I've got a home brew rod turner and use flex cote. Plenty of youtube videos on how to thread wrap guides, I actually use archery serving string to wrap.

Send whatever the manufacturer requirements are to get a new one.

This is what I do with my Falcons unless it it just the tip that breaks off. If that happens I put another guide on the tip and it turns into my Catfishing rod.

I usually slash my leg or arm pretty good trying to break them down for the trash.

Usually take up space in the garage for a few months before I finally throw it away

Strip old guides...toss the rest

I send mine back to Dobyns and get a new one.
