I don't think Todd did anything wrong here at all. The state absolutely dropped the ball. They should have jumped at the chance to purchase the land given our massive surplus.
That said, I fully support the state paying a fair price and returning its ownership to Texans. Is that fair to Todd? No, but life isn't always fair. Is what it is. Selfishly I like fishing that little lake, so in this instance my support follows my passion, even if it run against my better sensibilities of right and wrong. At least I'm honest about it. I'll sleep just fine tonight.

The state should pay Todd 150%-200% of purchase price plus any other expenses incurred during this debacle.
$150-250M is not a drop in what is in the state's coffers.
Anyone with a lick of commons sense would know why all the work is going on at the site at this point. If Todd loses the land, the state will likely have to pay for the improvements and expense of the improvements.

Funny how people are up in arms over China being involved in this when most of the [censored] we all buy is made in China. They're just using our money to invest with. The real funny thing is the ones griping about communists are themselves seeking a communist type outcome here.
