Had a rookie warden harass me a little on Bob Hall Pier once. I was 15 and after midnight I would have been 16. When he approached me and asked how old I was I said it depended on what time it was. It was 2am so I was technically 16 so he went on to recite the laws and how I needed to get a license. Being the teen that I was I began to be a smart a$$ and asked how he expected me to get a license at midnight when they wouldn't sell me one prior to fishing. Thankfully his veteran partner walked up and laughed it off and told the kid to go wait in the truck. He proceeded in giving me his card and said if any other warden asked me about my license that I had a free pass for the weekend.

I get checked about once a year on Limestone. I run a very distinctive boat, so they check me once a year to make sure I have a License. Saying that I get stopped every time I fish Lake Brazos in Waco. The GW seem to hover around the Baylor and MCC girls wearing the Bikinis. Saying that I have never got a ticket but it has made me stay away from Lake Brazos.
Funny stories A GW checked me on the Navasota and I was in my big boat fishing up front. There was a bunch of boats gathered in the area. GW asked me to pull up my Stringer. I had been tearing the Whites up. I pulled up near a Limit of Whites. GW told my Buddy fishing in the back, to pull up his Stringer. He said "Please don't make me do that." GW gets suspicious and demands he pull up his stringer. Buddy pulls his Stringer up with two fish, a sad face, and everybody including the GW busted out laughing.
Another time on the Navasota GW pulls up and my Buddy is hung up in a tree. We had no fish and were legal. GW tells my Buddy good thing I got here before you caught anything Squirrels are not in season yet. Buddy was not amused but I thought it was funny.

Last time was 3 years ago on Tawakoni. Licenses and life jackets only. I have been checked 3 times under the bridges on Fork over probably 25 years. One time I kept a deep hooked 9-7/8" crappie. The warden showed me how to measure a fish. If I had been a jerk about it I am sure he would have given me a ticket. Last time the wardens were in a Skeeter Bay with Ttop and could not get under the bridge. We held up our licenses and they looked at them with a monocular. They only time I have ever got a ticket was on Hubbard the day after my 17th birthday. A buddy and I were sitting on 1 of the submerged bridges by 66. My buddy was toking on a number. A game warden came idling through the stumps. I said hide that thing. I told the warden that I had just forgot to get my license and would walk up to the store on 66 and get one. He told me I was talking my way to a ticket for no life jackets so I shut up.
