It will be dang near impossible to hide from thermal imaging.if someone was actively looking for you. At some point you are going to run short on groceries or you water filtering system will crater. How often are you backpacking with something on your back that weights 50 to 80 pounds.
You city guys are hosed. Big time. When it all crashes and the stores don't get resupplied or the EBT cards quite working in a lot of cases it will be kill or be killed. I have plenty of pigs to last out a couple of yrs. I can't keep up with them as it is.

Im wondering if there is wheelchair accessible woods near me?
Lol
Any thoughts like this are in the past for me-
I will protect you so neither one of us have to live in the woods. Thank you Danny! Actually we have a deep pond for water, and land to grow critters and things, and lots of land surrounding my land- We are not going anywhere but probably house a compound type of situation-
What has happed to you does not define who you are-
HOW you react to what happens to you DOES!

I'll hang here in my shack until I see the invaders from my fire zones and then "Katie bar the door". Live ammo with lots of legal ammo and magazines.

Yes easy in one hour- the ability to have drinkable water and dry feet would be the most important thing for me.

Here is the scenario - you're at your house and you have one hour to split. You're leaving and need to spend a year hiding out in the woods. You don't have massive amounts of people looking for you or anything - I'm not talking escape and evade stuff - just a year in a part of the woods in our general area that's not your land and you aren't intimately familiar with it. You've only got an hour to put that together.
Could you pull that off successfully? I think I probably could, but I can think of a few issues that might give me some problems, but I think I could pull that off.
I know it's likely a pretty useless mental exercise, but playing out that hypothetical hour of prep for a whole year spent in the elements was kind of interesting. Like I said, I think I could make that work out.
Maybe I'm underestimating how long a year really is and how quick an hour passes, though. I won't be bugging out to the woods. I make my stand here.
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it !

Could I just go to my house in the woods ? Tons of deer, hogs, turkeys etc, only one way in and out, have to drive through two ranches to get to ours, it sure gets hot in the summer and very muddy if it ever rains.

Interesting mental exercise. Periodically I do remote wilderness camping in the boundary waters, so I have the gear to be able to pull off a year. If I were allowed to literally pile it all in my truck and sort it all out later, I'm confident I could do it.
In addition to all the camping gear I'd grab my guns and ammo. Some gold and some cash. Every lighter I could find in the house. A big pot and a cast iron skillet. Water filtration system. One of my survival books. I'd pound the pantry for non perishables and hit the road.
My biggest concern honestly would be medications and caffeine withdrawal. I don't take anything that keeps me alive, but I'm guessing a few of them, like my T-shot, would not be fun stopping cold turkey.

Absolutely, I regularly backpack camp. Have a winter and summer pack both stocked with full first aid, water filtration, saws, knives, flint & steel, food, coffee, clothes, sleep gear, shelter, bedding, cooking, ect. I'd just need to grab guns and ammo, a coat, and a hat.
Now, in a SHTF type situation, I'm locking down and family is coming to my house. House is on a hill in the middle of a hayfield with 360* 500yd view, ain't nobody getting close to me.
