Interesting. Thanks for the cliff notes. I'm glad to hear there is still a chance the lake might remain open to the public. I had grown to love that little lake in the last year or so.

the value has been set the amount that he paid for it if the state wants to give him what he paid for it an some for his trouble that they caused fine really doubt that the state wants to get in the business of stealing land from legal buyers who knows you might be next.

This chapter of the Texas land code will explain eminent domain. Some of the regular posters on both sides and opinions of the issue should read it in it's entirety. Texas Property Code Chapter 21

Texas Property Code Chapter 21 I ain’t reading it. I like my position/opinion on the happenings. I know for a fact…if I want to fish the lake in the future I can. End of story. It’s either $5 to launch, or $5,000,000 to walk down to the boat house. We know I’m a cheap [censored]….so I will likely choose not to fish it if it’s the latter.

So with this thing being tied up in court, is Todd allowed to move any dirt or do anything with the property? Apologies if this has been asked and answered but I am not sifting through 81 pages.

His company currently owns the property and from what I've read is full steam ahead spending millions to alter it as they planned.

Thought the state had filed something with Freestone County to start the eminent domain process. Didn't know if that would put a halt to things on land renovations if that was the case.

I guess you could say Todd owns it ... but that's not exactly the whole truth, since he took out a 92 million dollar mortgage the same day he closed. https://www.breitbart.com/politics/...scheme-purchase-iconic-texas-state-park/Todd Interests purchased an idyllic Texas state park by using a loan from a regional business center specializing in Chinese EB-5 investors, which would reportedly crush small businesses and rob Texans of a nearby recreational center.According to public records, Todd Interests used $92 million for the purchase of the Fairfield Lake State Park, which was provided via a loan from a group called CMB Infrastructure Investment Group (CMB), an organization that provides a vehicle for foreign investors to obtain Green Cards through the obscure yet lucrative EB-5 visa program.Congress created the EB-5 visa program as an attempt to boost the U.S. Economy through job creation and capital investment through foreign investors. The federal government would grant visas to foreign investors who invest in commercial enterprises with regional centers approved by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Anyone willing to put $1 million into any U.S. business, $500,00 for a rural area, is eligible for an EB-5 visa. The visa program attempts to stimulate the economy; however, as Breitbart News has frequently reported, the program’s perverse incentives make the visa program rife with corruption and graft. Ann Lee, a senior fellow at Demos, wrote in the New York Times that the program is “rife with fraud and corruption” so much that the program that “it could actually have the opposite impact and deter investment.” Lee explained that the “most egregious problems” with the program surround its 218 regional centers, of which CMB Regional Center is the focal point of the controversy surrounding the purchase of Fairfield Lake State Park: Fairfield Lake State Park, a park centrally located between Dallas, Austin, and Houston, which is known for its scenic vistas as well as its hiking, camping, and “world-class” bass fishing, was recently purchased by a private developer, Todd Interests, in June 2023. Todd Interests purchased the property in an “unprecedented” circumstance as the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission (TPWD) was unable to secure the funds needed to purchase the state park.

Maybe they’ll pick three disinterested Chinese Freestone County property owners to determine the eminent domain property valuation.

That should put to rest the notion that the state is not actively moving through the legal process of buying and taking the lake, park, and surrounding property. Texas Parks and Wildlife Department v. FLG Owner, LLC has been filed with the District Court in Freestone County. From the court filing: "NOTICE is hereby given that there has been filed with the Clerk of the 87th Judicial District Court of Freestone County, Texas, a certain petition in an eminent domain proceeding... The state seeks to establish certain rights therein and is seeking affirmative relief in that it is seeking to condemn and take such real estate and title thereto for the public use and public park purposes." And later: "PETITION FOR CONDEMNATION
Plaintiff, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, an agency of the State of Texas, brings this action and files its petition for the acquisition of the real property and interests or rights pertaining thereto as described herein, and would show as follows: That the owners of the property to be acquired, identified as Defendants, are as follows: FLG Owner, LLC, a Texas limited liability company..."

Todd and the Chinese why am I not surprised. Wonder why the commissioners and county judge didn’t mention that fact?
