I still use that. I use more southern sayings than old phrases but I have a few. I say things like yonder, and reckon all the time.

"Hoover the floor" instead of vacuum.

I'm going to name my next dog Hoover.

I still use the term "grade school" instead of elementary school.

Grade school, land line, toughie hat, and my favorite...please and thank you.

Tape or videotape - meaning recording something. There will never be physical tape again.

Also film or filming something - same thing.

My dad always called a spade shovel a "sharpshooter", so that's what I called it also. I'm sure some people know that word for it, but I've never heard anyone else call it that.
