https://tpwd.texas.gov/newsmedia/releases/?req=20230824b Aplin is being replaced in a week. I wonder if this was the end of his term or not.

Maybe we could get some of the MLF anglers to find the "gray areas" in these contracts and negotiations .......

Todd can either accept TP&WD's offer or take his chances on the three person Freestone County panel's appraisal. I guess the question he has to ask himself is, "Do I feel lucky?"

He'll take the third door if the numbers don't make sense to him. Civil court. They were supposed to discuss eminent domain yesterday and whether they are going to go forward with it. I wonder how that went.

He already rejected the final offer so he is just waiting to see what the states next move is. He'll take the third door if the numbers don't make sense to him. Civil court. I realize that. It's still a gamble. No one knows if the three person appraisal or the amount he gets on appeal will be more...or less...than the state's offer. He can spend a lot of money finding out if that's the route he wants to take.

Aplin’s term was over last February. I suppose he has just been acting like a chairman since February.

They said they won't take it unless the land owner agrees to lease it them but after that they can take it. How will that affect future parks. Fewer, I'm certain. Remember, Aplin had initially offered a pittance to buy only the state park and before Todd announced his purchase Aplin's highest offer was for $60 million and some tax incentives. That is about $50 million less than they got from Todd and probably $80 plus million they would have gotten without going through a civil court case with the state. Why would you let the state lease property from you?

Well, the mush word salad in the first part of your post is just opinion BS but as for your last question I would say it worked out great for Vistra.
