Thanks for the heads up...this year I vow to get my yard back in order. Last year I lost due to the lake of rain.

Thatโ€™s Pendimethalin same as Scott Halts. Just different % of AI. Itโ€™s my least favorite of pre-emergents. Has a much shorter soil residual, and the heaviest root pruning properties of any of them and can stain concrete pretty bad. I havenโ€™t read that label but it will tell you how much to apply per 1000. It will also probably tell you to add X more amount after 4-6 weeks. Know your square footage and weigh out how much you need to apply. As with all products if you miss apply you can do more harm than good. Specially with that one. You for sure donโ€™t want to go too heavy with it.

Isn't it a bit early to be putting down pre-emergent? I was shooting for the last week of Feb., is that too late?

For him it's not. He's 100+ miles south of DFW. My typical dates are Feb 15th and Aug 15th. If you're going out with a long soil residual product like Prodiamine it won't hurt to go out a little early.

Thanks Derek, I failed to notice he's located in Temple. I'll be spraying Prodiamine so may look at pulling my application date into the middle of Feb. instead of the end, as i'd rather be a bit early than late..

Nice. I spray it too. I add isoxaben and the Prodiamine together. Iso isn't cheap but really helps with my summer Spurge control. If you don't get spurge or any major broadleaf outbreaks then don't worry about it and do a cheap post spray if you have to.

I decided to scalp my lawn yesterday since the weather has been as warm as it has been. Should have had my a$$ kicked for not cutting it lower last fall like I usually do, but bow hunting was way more importantat the time. On top of that, it grew more than I thought after my last mow in October and it still being warm. It was probably over 2 inches when I started yesterday and I took it down to 1.5 inches and filled up 25 trash bags. I lowered it down to 1" today and got another13 bags off the back and side yards and called it quits. Probably get another12-13 off of the front lawn tomorrow. Going to take it down to .75" on the lowest setting after that and I`ll be ready to spray my Preemergent. I start out every spring at .75" and raise during the summer to 1.5", but last year I went to 2" to see how it would look and now I`m paying the price with so much to bag bang. ............BTW, if anyone needs any Elemental Sulphur, the local Tractor Supply's have it back in stock for the same price as last year.................And were off. bolt

Funny you should mention Isoxaben as I was just looking into buying some. $132 for a 1lb. bottle, have you seen it any cheaper anywhere lately?

I HATE scalping, Every year I consider just burning it and every year I talk myself out of doing it. This might be the year I do it.

I haven't seen it any cheaper. And actually that price is down a little. Me and a buddy split a bottle in 2020 and it was $148.00. You probably saw that price on Solutions site? They typically have a online coupon you can find to save another $5. Not much of a savings but $5 is $5

Thanks Derek, yes Solutions Pest and Lawn is where I found that price. I tried several of the online $5 discount codes without success, so just went ahead and placed the order.
