Derek, we have some of the same issues with our crepe myrtles, is it too late to apply Imidacloprid this year and try in the spring or can we try now?

I would wait it out and do it next spring Water and fertilize to make it to spring. DO NOT APPLY IT FOLIAR. It's best as a soil drench application. There are tons of Imidacloprid products on the market. I use Dominion 2L. I don't remember the app rate off hand but I mix it in a 5 gallon bucket and apply as a drench. The label will say per height of bush/tree and that's how much you measure to use. Pretty simple. Makes a world of difference.

Now is perfect. Sulphur needs the heat to breakdown faster. Heat and water.

It's pre emergent season boys. Get your lives together and get it out. I like Prodiamine. Looks like Lowes dropped the Lesco line. Best deal I can find is Lebanon from Lowes or HD. Rate would be 3lbs per 1000sq feet. That will cover your grassy weeds. Put down Gallery for broadleaf weed control. It can be found at most local nurseries.

Derek - On the grassy weed pre emergent I have a bag of Scotts Crabgrass and Grassy Weed Preventer Pre Emergent.
Is this product worth using or should I get the one's you listed?

You can. It's Pendimethalin which is basically old technology prodiamine. It's a pretty hard root pruner meaning it can create more stress on turf and the soil residual is not that long. It's best used into 2 split apps. Now and again in 90 days. Personally I would use prodiamine on turf and use the scotts in flowerbeds.

Hey Derek, are you saying put down Prodiamine and Gallery? I put out Lesco Stonewall last year on 8/30 and did pretty well with weeds in the winter. I put the Stonewall out again on 02/15 and also did well with weeds this summer except for spurge. Think I should keep it the same as last year or go with the Prodiamine and Gallery?

Do the same schedule. I don't really have a fall/winter broadleaf issue and the few I get are easy to kill so I skip gallery in the fall. Add Gallery to your Feb app and again in May and it will greatly reduce your spurge issue.

Thank you, that's what I will do.
