MLF is notorious for scheduling on top of other organization and then asking that organization to move their event. Many tournament trails in Texas can attest to this. Conflicting tournaments are inevitable these days, but you can at least be humble about it and not act like you own every lake in America. Sounds like these were pro anglers from other organizations causing them problems and I get the frustration, but the way to handle that isn't by posting a gripe session on youtube. These guys should have known how this would come across. Pretty tone deaf for that group. Just in case you don't know and are just repeating something you heard on the internet, MLF and BASS have already booked 2024 and are working on 2025 and 2026. No organization can book on top of another, it is impossible to wait until they know someone's schedule to make their own. Turns out you are the one running on supposition in this particular case my friend. When you book a tournament and then ask someone that already has one scheduled to move their event, I consider that booking on top of someone else. If you are a tournament trail and you don't have 2024 booked at this point you are way way behind. In fact you are screwed. MLF booked heavy hitters on Palestine way after THSBA had their regional tournament booked. Asked them to change it. THSBA said no. The list of Toyota events they have scheduled on top of other organizations and asked them to move is near endless. I'm not making it up and I'm not basing it on internet rumors. Tell Boyd I'm sorry if I offended him for saying something I know is a fact. I agree that it's impossible to host a tournament without conflicting with another event these days. Said as much in my original post. Just own it and accept it. Don't ask the event scheduled before yours to move. That's insane.

On most lakes, there are and I don’t know how many, but a certain amount of spots that hold fish more than others. Most tournament guys know where these spots are. You can’t have hundreds of people fighting over a limited number of spots. So we have to figure out who has super seniority to fish these spots. Seniority rules.

Finding out that your tournament and another tournament are on top of each other and asking if they will reschedule is not scheduling on top of someone. MLF and BASS don't know every tournament on every lake. They make their schedule well ahead of time. Also, since they are paid to bring their tournaments to the lakes they fish. I imagine whoever is paying has a say on the date.

On BTL today, they said this is the first time that MLF has ever fished in this location. Seems a bit suspicious that they just happened to go to a new lake, at the exact same time as a Bassmaster writers event. Maybe MLF should try just a bit harder to quit copying going where BASS goes.

My favorite part is when they're saying "all us anglers are in this together, I hate the divisiveness in the sport, we all eat from the same plate". Clearly forgetting they all left one organization at the drop of a hat for the promise of more money in the other.....that must the respect they're referencing?
Sure the writer's conference could've changed and went 50 miles up the road when they found out. So could've MLF.
Super righteous video from a couple guys I used to cheer for.

I am a fan of all 3 and watch their vids regularly. To be honest, lost all respect for them. They not only sounded like whiners, but dbags as well. So they expect a tourney that scheduled before they did to move their tourney so they can have the water to themselves. And anyone else should just get off the water because they make a living at it. What a group of entitled babies they sounded like. They try to justify it by stating they don't want to be negative or call anyone out, but that is all they did thru the entire video. Total dbags.
