I hope those boys never have to deal with one of these 300+ high school tournaments, they’ll be whooping some teenage butt, when they get pulled up on.

The BPT event was scheduled on top of the other tournament.

It was not a tournament they are complaining about. What Wheeler said about it, "Writers conferences are not publicly put out as far as locations and dates, so no one knew other than a select few in that group that organized it. You also have to understand this is a media event not a actual professional tournament. I was told that they had it was scheduled before our event and I’m going to roll with that but professional events no matter what organization takes precedence over a writer’s conference. Several have been moved in the past because it’s the right thing to do."

"It’s basically a media event that media from all over come to film fishing content with professional anglers. In this case anglers not fishing MLF"

"We had a 35~ mile limit due to connectivity for livestream. They could have easily gone outside of this area. That place has some of the most diverse habitats to choose from and the smallmouth fishing was actually better further up in pre practice."

"I completely understand that and for the working man or women they typically only get one day to go out and fish a well. In this instance we are talking about other professional anglers. I just mentioned that having local anglers on the water is apart of strategy. You have to be able to save some sneaky spots in your back pocket for the weekend or at least that’s how I try to do it. In this situation we are talking about other professional anglers that were on the water and no one prepares for that to happen. So of course it caught us off guard."

"We were talking about pro anglers in this event. We understand so many people only get one day to go out and enjoy a day of fishing. Who am I to tell someone not to do that. We love all fisherman just in this instance it was about other pro anglers and the company who scheduled the event."

"This was about pro anglers and the company’s supporting them should all respect each other. In no way would we tell a weekend angler to stay home because of our event."

No doubt. Was a great experience and successful times, but after 3 years I’m glad to be out of that chiat show! If my youngest shows interest it’ll be through a different organization.

WOW I don't know what to say. I try to stay away from other fisherman. At least 100 yards. Now if I get cut off I will fire up my boat and cut them off the same distance. I'm 70 and been bass fishing a long time. Seems like I meet a lot more jerks than ever before.

MLF is notorious for scheduling on top of other organization and then asking that organization to move their event. Many tournament trails in Texas can attest to this. Conflicting tournaments are inevitable these days, but you can at least be humble about it and not act like you own every lake in America. Sounds like these were pro anglers from other organizations causing them problems and I get the frustration, but the way to handle that isn't by posting a gripe session on youtube. These guys should have known how this would come across. Pretty tone deaf for that group.

State issued tournament permits, if the lake is booked, too bad, find a different one. Problem solved as well as spreading pressure to different lakes rather than most of the pressure on just a few.

See you on the lake and have a great day!

MLF was chiming on about being on 1200 square miles of fishable waters plus an extensive river system. You're telling me they couldn't be friendly and play nice?

Just in case you don't know and are just repeating something you heard on the internet, MLF and BASS have already booked 2024 and are working on 2025 and 2026. No organization can book on top of another, it is impossible to wait until they know someone's schedule to make their own.
