I'm beginning to think no one has a damn clue what is going on and how it will end. Beginning? With as many guesses on here how it will turn out I guess it is inevitable that someone will be right. Can't wait for the crowing by the "winner(s)" after all is said and done.

I'm good with a poll on how many pages this thread will accumulate. Over / under 80?

Whomever said that nothing ever changes in a small should maybe check out Glen Rose. It was a wide spot in the road, then Comanche Peak Nuclear Plant was built. Their tax base went thru the roof. Now they have a great school system that is playing for state championships, new infrastructure all over town, new businesses many more people moved in because they work at The Peak. So things do change in small towns when the tax base blows up That is a ridiculous comparison we’re talking about a lake property development. A power plant is a sure thing this not so much. Tax base increase is still the same thing. If you have an extra 5, 10 or more million tax money coming in things have to change for the better. Being we both live in America when have taxes changed anything for the citizens?

That’s a total apples to oranges comparison. It may help some, but it’s not gonna me enough to go slapping new schools up or things of the sort.

Be sure to vote for the one billion appropriations on the November ballot. That should buy lots of parks. I’m For those who do not know what I ws referring to: Addressing the need for more parkland and working with a $32 billion surplus in 2023, the Legislature designated $1 billion for state park acquisition. Arch H. “Beaver” Aplin III, chairman of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission, explained that the $1 billion will remain intact while TPWD will be able to spend earnings from the fund, an amount that he estimates could reach $50 million a year. In November, voters will have a chance to vote on the Centennial Parks Conservation Fund to secure future parkland in Texas.
