Derek it looks like Tractor Supply may not be carrying Tiger 90 Sulphur anymore. Went to the Bartonville store they were out but said they did not even show an SKU in their system anymore. Looked online donโt see it. I guess I will try a different pelletized sulphur maybe just from Amazon unless you have a better idea. The one on Amazon that looks good is Dibbs Farms brand.

Tiger is really hit or miss at TSC lately. Check your local nurseries and see if they carry the Martin brand. Mine stocks it for $39.95 for a 50lb bag

I was able to get it at TSC twice this year and now they are all out of it. The closest Site One doesn`t even carry it either. Good luck with Amazon to. I`d have to have a gun at my head to pay those prices. I`ll just keep looking until I find it this year or next. Surely, someone will have it sooner or later and I`ll just keep looking online. The local TSC store manager is a good friend of mine. I may ask him if he can help me procure some.

You are right it is pricey on Amazon but I feel very sure that is because the freight cost is calculated into the price. Best way to buy is local pick up if you can find it but not having much luck so far. My yard is small a bag lasts quite a long time so if I have to pay the Amazon price so be it.

I actually called the Tiger rep for this area he is based in Alabama so he is not sure why Tractor Supply does not have stock. He actually gave me One Site Landscape Supply in Lewisville as a source. I called them and they donโt have it either but they do have the Martin brand. I will just go with that for now.

That's good. Same thing, it's just Tiger is screened better so the prills are almost exactly the same. Martin will look similar, but you will see some obround and different looking prills here and there. You won't have any issue spreading it.

Hey, Derek...my best friend is buying a house and it has had an amazing St Augustine lawn in the past...it's been a bit neglected the last year as the 92 year old owner has moved to Houston to be with family. The sprinkler system is a bit off (4 zones set to run 1 hour 36 minutes and the other 4 set to run 3 minutes)....I plan on correcting that when he closes on 9/1. I also want to put out the preemergent you mentioned earlier in this thread. Is it okay on St Augustine? Also, any recommendations on how to get it to spread in a bit more shaded area? I know we need to prune the oak trees a bit in February, but I'd like to try to get the grass ready for a great start.

Yeah get the irrigation in order first which should be pretty easy. Order these and place them over a zone and run the zone 20 minutes and see what your readings are. You might need to make some pattern adjustments. https://www.amazon.com/Txkrhwa-Transparent-Sprinkler-Measuring-Instrument/dp/B0C2VHQLM7/ref=sr_1_5?crid=19TLM0PBU5Q7N&keywords=Sprinkler%2BGauge&qid=1692707209&s=lawn-garden&sprefix=sprinkler%2Bgauge%2Clawngarden%2C108&sr=1-5&th=1 You're good to use that Pre emergent. Sounds like there hasn't been any inputs lately so I would go down with a good bit of NPK to go into fall with. I would go with this 13-13-13 at 3.5lbs per 1000 as soon as you get the irrigation figured out. I would go ahead and get some disease prevention out too. Get a bag of Scotts Disease EX out at 1 bag per 2500sq feet. Label says it covers 5k but if you read closely that is the preventative rate and the curative rate is 2.5k. I would go curative with it being neglected and going into fall. You can do pre, fert, disease all the same day. Just spread them separately and water the hell out of it. That should cover you until next spring. If temps hold and October seems to be warm you could go out with a little more fert at the first of October. I would use something like Scotts Southern Turf Builder for the Oct app. If the Scotts bag says it covers 5k I would times that by 2 and stretch that 5k rate to a 10k rate. You don't need to put down that much nitrogen down at once with the Scotts. So if you do some T13 the first week of Sept and some Scotts the first week of Oct that will give you some good nitrogen and potassium stores to come out of winter with. Obviously a soil test in Feb or March would be ideal, but if not, I would use up whatever Scotts you have leftover in April then switch back to the T13. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Sta-Green/...iwqPEAQYASABEgJjcPD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

You are right definitely not the perfect size material like the Tiger but at least I have it and did the final app this AM before the sprinklers ran. With tax it was about $38 frome One Site Landscape Supply. For anyone looking to buy not all their stores have inventory. This was the Lewisville store just off I35 and Fox Avenue kind of an interesting place looks to cater mainly to professionals they sell retail but very doubtful that is what keeps them in business.
