I quit using mono years ago as main line. Now I use it as backing on my reels. Prior to that I was a very firm believer in P-Line CXX. Was given a roll by a friend when fishing the White River (Indianapolis). I kept breaking off jigs with Trilene 12lb. He was using CXX 12 and able to pull his baits free. Sold me there.

CXX has a special place for me...but Sunline Sniper has caught more fish for me.

Braid mainline to CXX leader makes fishing much more enjoyable. Be careful, as you will develop a habit of not retying; then when you use another line and forget to rety; you remember why you like to use CXX on everything (except really, really clear water and very, very finicky fish)

There nothing like layin into some good spotted bass on 1/2 & 3/4 oz. Football head jigs in 50 to 60 feet of water on 6 & 8 lb maxima on MH spinning outfits in the wintertime. The same with largemouth wintertime bassin in 30 to 50 feet of of water

All mono except for a couple of reels with 30# & 60# braid for pitching/flipping in cover and for fishing frogs

I used the Big Game Trilene for everything. Crankbaits, jjgs, spinnerbaits, etc. 12lb, but as strong as a 15. They also have very good knot strength.

I still use it on my bait casters and braid on the family coffee grinders. I've been using Andie for yrs but lately it's been hard to find.

When I run low on my current supply of Sniper, invisx, and p-line fluoro, Iā€™m going to try some CXX.

Had my eye on the CXX. Next Academy or BPS gift card I get might go toward some new line to try.

I still use Big Game mono for top water. 12-15 depending on cover. I do use braid for frog fishing.

CXX does have memory but it is SUPER STRONG line and low stretch. I use it in 10# to 20# test. 20# test for large swim baits.
