For the most part I despise Georgia “BBQ”. Texas is by far the best with the only acceptable substitute being Carolina-style but Brunswick Stew is the one thing GA got right. Melt a stick of butter in a Dutch oven and brown a chopped sweet onion and garlic. Once done add salt, pepper & cayenne to taste along with 1/8 cup Worcestershire. Let it simmer 5-10 min & add 1.5lb leftover BBQ meat of your choice (brisket from the freezer), 1/4 cup Carolina vinegar based bbq sauce & 1/2 cup Carolina mustard based BBQ sauce. Let simmer for 10 min or so. Next add a big can of quality crushed tomato, 1 diced tomato from the garden, a can of sweet corn, some butter beans, and a qt of chicken stock. Simmer all day and add some hot sauce and pepper vinegar in your bowl. Enjoy with cornbread, fried okra from the garden and an icy cold Pilsner Urquell!

I've had Brunswick stew several times while traveling thru the South and it's always good, but it tastes a bit different in every area, kinda like shrimp and grits. Looking that pot, you had to stop adding stuff just as you got to the kitchen sink.
Family is everything! Life is precious. We don’t have forever. We have now. This moment. We can choose to love our lives now.

I make around 3 gallons in the fall. I use an entire pork shoulder and a family pack of chicken breasts

It really hits the spot when you need a bbq fix and it’s over 100 degrees outside!

You have left over BBQ? A brisket goes a LONG way. Always end up vacuum sealing it for later. Throw the vacuum sealed bag in boiling water for 30min and it is as good as right off the smoker. Brisket chili and brisket baked potatoes can’t be beat!

Looks delicious and Pilsner Urquell is a great beer because it tastes like beer should.

Looks delicious and Pilsner Urquell is a great beer because it tastes like beer should. It has gotten difficult to find here. Luckily I scored some Czechvar to get me by. People are ate up with hating Bud because some trannys on instagrams. The real reason to hate them is for poorly trying to imitate and steal Budvar, then suing them or whatever to stop import with THEIR OWN name Shiner 101 was very close to Pilsner Urquel. Lagunitas Pils is too
