No idea how it happened. Optimax 150 with OEM aluminum prop. I have a chip taken out of one prop blade on the leading edge near the tip of the blade that's almost perfect half-dime size. No cracks in that blade and the other two blades appear 100% okay.

Question is, is that (to me looking relatively insignificant) chip enough to cause an unbalance or other problem?

I WILL replace the prop before summer 2024 and keep this one as a spare (just in case). Just can't afford it right now.

Fishing, a man knows a serenity of soul and peace of mind that he finds in doing nothing else, and it makes no difference whether or not he catches anything. The mind of a true fisherman is not on petty subjects.

Aluminum props are fragile. Yes a chunk can throw it out of balance, when that happens bad things can follow.
