Hello all!

As the title states, I'm looking for shore fishing spots at most an hour away from San Antonio.

I also have base access if any of the bases have any good fishing spots.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions/recommendations.

boerne city lake walking the dam I used to catch some, mainly spinners and spooks tossed as parallel as possible.

ne corner of canyon lake, forget the park name but good rocky bank and good fishing.

some places along the guadalupe below canyon, may have to pay one of the companies for access but trout/guadalupe bass are there.

same above canyon but best to rent a canoe from one of the liveries, float/fish.

check with special services (what we called them in the Navy), I think there was a military place on canyon with boats and such. no idea now as it has been well over 30 yrs. since I lived down there.

I used to do good from the ramp to the maintenance bldg. on the other end of the dam.

used to be some nice bass but I heard it flooded and changed stuff.

caught dec. 31 1990 in fog sw corner (there were rocks and a drop at the creek).

yeah, I was and still am a redneck.

welcome to the TFF. Plus #1 for Boerne Lake. Also the Blanco River including Blanco State Park, Guadalupe State Park, Canyon Lake (COE Parks), Live Oak Creek in Fredericksburg, and Lady Bird Lake Austin, have plenty of public bank space. Caught plenty of nice bass, sunfish, gar, catfish, and carp from some of those spots. Google is also your friend. thumb

Side Note: Let us know how you do. Looking forward to reading more of your post. cheers
