I'm volunteering at a food bank while on light duty. They are having there annual ' Iron Chef Competition in Oct. They are having a raffle to help raise money for the food bank. I'm hoping a guide might donate a 1/2 day trip or full day. Thanks

Rangerkev, as a full-time, professional fishing guide, I get requests like this on the order of 5-6 per month, usually by phone, and usually from local organizations. There are a few things you might consider responding back with to help folks consider your cause. Here are a few I'd suggest:

1. What is the name of the food bank?

2. What is the mission of this food bank?

3. Is the food bank a bona fide not-for-profit organization with proper tax exemption paperwork in place?

4. What will the proceeds go towards?

5. What percentage of the proceeds will be used for this stated purpose?

6. Is there a fundraising goal?

7. Does the organization have a website for a potential donor to look over?
