why were they forgiven, there are a lot of ways for it to happen without the borrower doing a thing.

I was paying on about 20k and when SS declared me disabled it was automatic, I didn't even know about it till I got a letter saying the loan was gone.

you can do public service and have them forgiven, teachers can have them forgiven along with other ways for it to happen.

PPP loans didn’t have much anything to do with need in the traditional sense. You could take the loan if you had “economic uncertainty” regarding the pandemic. You keep you staff employed for a small period of time, I think it was 6 or 7 weeks and you get the sum value of that payroll. That was it for requirements.

Biden announced a few new initiatives to try to cut interest rates, extend payments and perhaps cancel some student debt. Betting that many of the not-so-bright folks that incurred stupid debt will fall for this again. He is probably right.

Our family did without before & during our daughters college years so we could pay for college. I don’t suppose the current administration had any back up plan in place for people that sacrificed and now want a portion of their expenses reimbursed.

It absolutely kept the business I worked at open, and we were very worried if we would stay afloat. Without it sports in Oklahoma would have been hugely impacted, affecting almost everyone in the State somewhat.

Yep, it was attempt by a politician to circumvent the Constitution. It has nothing to do with PP loans.

Our system has many flaws, but even when mostly run by broken olds, still finds moderation/the middle more than not.
It is a beautiful design.
