I would think if you asked them what they used for the earlier grub treatment they would tell you or maybe itโ€™s on the invoice. If itโ€™s Acelepryn then youโ€™re good. That is the same active ingredient as grubex but a much cheaper app rate sprayed for them vs buying a granular. Betting thatโ€™s what they used.

Bermuda. I have been watering twice a week putting down 1/2โ€ each time. Starting Saturday Iโ€™ll probably go to every 3rd day until the heat breaks

Hi Derek,

For some reason I have a calendar reminder to apply GrubEx the first of August, is this correct? I applied it at the recommended application rate back in first part of April. The label says it controls grubs for up to four months but I'm not sure if a second application the first part of August is needed to control the grubs or other listed pests such as army worms or chinchbugs.

Thanks
MAK

I went to sleep and forgot I had left a sprinkler on... 8 hours on full blast... this week I still have an oasis in one area of my yard.
cheers

I wouldn't be concerned with it. It is a very long lasting product and slow to get to work. If you put it down today it's going to take a few weeks for it to work down into the root system then be uptaken and into the leaf. 2021 when we had army worms my app had been down a little over 5 months. Neighbor to the left and right both had them pretty good as they don't treat at all. I had none. If anything have a cheap hose end bottle of Sevin, or anything with Bifenthrin and be ready to hose your yard down if need be. When we have an armyworm outbreak it's typically very wide spread and you/me/someone is going to hear about it and post it and be on the lookout.

Hey Derek,
Is there anything to kill St Augustine grass that's invading my Bermuda...besides hand pulling?

Thanks Derek, much appreciated! Iโ€™m wondering if the reminder should have been for DiseaseEx instead, is it time to apply another application of that?

Too hot to use these products right now. When temps stay below 85, 75-85 would be good. Quinclorac mixed with 1% methylated seed oil surfactant will absolutely do the job. Quin is a very precise product and needs to be measured/weighed exactly to what the label says. Most of your broadleaf weed killers that are safe for bermuda will kill St. Aug. Speedzone red label will work too. But again it's too hot out right now. Speedzone would be a good one to use in early spring.

I have found that small patches of invading st augustine can be dealt with manually. Right after watering, go and start pulling up the runners. Since it spreads by the runners, you can stop it dead. Too much of a PITA for large areas though.

I have a problem with nutsedge. All of my St. Augustine died in my front yard. It is about 40โ€™ X 40โ€™ 75% St. Augustine, 25% Bermuda. After the St. Augustine died we fertilized the Bermuda and it has spread to cover the whole yard. Now it is infested with nutsedge. If I use Image or whatever is better will it kill my Bermuda?

Image is safe to use. Keep in mind that it does need to be watered in to work the best. Spray it and wait a day then water it in. Sedgehammer is another safe product to use. It does not need to be watered in. Neither is really fast to work. Going to take a week or two to start seeing results. Sedge seems to be really bad this year.

Yeah you can go with that too. I have seen it overapplied and yellow bermuda before. Won't kill it, just yellow it a bit and it mowed out. Just follow label rates.
