Batteries for my kobalt yard equipment lasted about 4/5 years. Buying new batteries was almost as much as the whole tool. Yeah that's my only worry with going with battery powered. The two batteries that the Milwaukee M18 FUEL requires currently are ~$500. In 3-5 years when they would need replacing they will likely be cheaper, but with they way inflation is running there's no guarantee in that.

The way gas prices are going you could spend $500 for gas in 5 years so it’s a wash😁

I’d buy a Troybuilt from Lowes, work good enough. I have one that’s close to 15 years old. Cranks first pull, I might have changed to oil in it 3 times. Still runs and looks good. Will probably put out last me.
Thanks, Billy

Thanks to everyone for the feedback, it's much appreciated. The consensus seems to be Honda or Toro, with a couple of votes for Snapper, all name brands and probably all of equal quality. I'm leaning towards the Honda that RayBob pointed out. I have a few gift cards from Lowes which will help out with the purchase. I'm also looking seriously at battery powered ones. Though I don't have much area to mow, what I do have is very thick. After researching the various brands, most reviews indicate the torque/power may not be up to the task, with the exception possibly being the the high end machines such as the Milwaukee M18 FUEL at $1100. I have many Milwaukee tools and have always been pleased with their performance and reliability. My only hesitation is the battery warranty is only 3 years and replacement batteries would cost half as much as the mower itself. Anyone have any experience with battery durability when used with a high amperage tool, such as a mower? I bought the 80Volt Snapper self propelled. It’s a beast. The batteries charge as fast as the mower depletes them, so you can continuously mow. Also it isn’t all plastic like most of the battery models. About $750 shipped.

I agree on the Snapper. Starts on 1st or 2nd pull. And doesnt have a choke!

Except your TB probably has a Honda engine. Now they use Briggs. Big difference.

I pulled it one time and it started up, still had gas in it. I wasn’t in the market for a new mower but seemed like a good deal. I’d buy another one in a heartbeat just like it if I needed one.
Thanks, Billy
