How many bass do you catch per hour on average? I feel like I'm doing good if I catch a limit of keepers within 3-4 hours on the lakes around DFW. I don't think I'm that great at bass fishing, but I always try to improve every time I'm out on the water whether that be a new technique, learning a new area, etc.
I've seen guys say that they catch 10 or more keepers per hour. After fishing lakes around the DFW area, I don't see how that's possible to consistently catch that many keepers per hour year round. If they truly are catching that many per hour, why aren't they competing on the national circuits?

my son and i caught 563 bass in 3 1/2 days on Picachos so that's about 9 fish per hour each.....now if we go to Seminole or Eufaula that average drops to about ,50 per hour maybe....there have been .00 per hour days...lot of variables that apply to fishing...

If they truly are catching that many per hour, why aren't they competing on the national circuits? If I am strictly looking for fish I don't expect to catch that many. I will generally move on from an area after one or two bites. Tournament setting it all depends on the lake. Some I fully expect to catch a limit pretty quick and upgrade throughout the day. Some I know it will be a grind to get 5 keeper bites in a day. Second part of your question. There are plenty of regional guys that could easily compete nationally, but they can make more money working their normal job and fishing regional tournaments than driving all over the country spending $50k on entries and $50k on travel expenses. Add in the time away from family into that equation. Doesn't make sense for most people.

I’ve caught 80 in 3 hours once….and around 50 in two hours. 80 was on Clark in January. Wacky senko. Almost every cast. The 50 in two hours was JoePool, throwing a red eye 2-tap at Lloyd park into schooling bass.
Last night was one fish in 3 hours. Lake clark.
Of course with Squaw open, you can catch 50-60+ per day.
Eat. Sleep. Fish.

Yeah, I'm not able to disclose this. My lawyer said it's best to keep it quiet.

A normal "good" day in an area with a population north of 6 million people for 1 person with novice skill is prob 6-10 fish in 8 hours.

Each lake our Bass Clubs fish is completely different than the next lake. So its impossible to state an overall overage.
On some lakes if I'm not catching 5 keepers an hour, I know I'm behind the 8 ball.
Other lakes if I can put a keeper in the boat every hour, I'm usually on par with the rest.
On a handful of the lakes I am just happy to get 5 keeper bites over the course of a day, but when I do catch a fish its a good chance it will be 4+ lbs.
So lake, conditions, time of year, it varies every single day.
