Has anyone fished the Sylvan Beach Park Fishing Pier in LaPorte with any luck? Any suggestions? Ive never been to the La Porte area, but it looks like a good lighted pier in the Bay.

my wife and I live a few blocks away, have only been there once left with 1 keeper trout. we go to the sea breeze park next to sylvan beach, (the little T head pier to the left) we always catch something. we live in morgans point and have access to a private pier where we have been catching keeper black drum everytime we go out.
Heeeeyyyyy...nice beaver. Thanks I just got it stuffed.

i hit up sea breeze all the time....i just hate the fact that they close so early...but the pier is free for lp residents so i cant complain....i've been fishing down in morgans point lately and did manage to land a keep red down by the point....the weather has been terrible lately, so im looking forward to the turn around....anyhow tight lines to all....

thanks to our land lords we have access to a private pier in morgans point, we catch alot of black drum. I have not fished the point yet, but the free pier was nice until sunday. there was this guy and his 4 loud kids, the dad was throwing a cast net right where we were fishing. everyone on the pier were from the cleaning table to the T-head. the first part of the pier was free, but he had to cast where everyone was. such a nice guy. then he let his kids start throwing the net, it was then that we decided to pack up. my wife and I wanted to tell him something, but we both were ticked off by his actions so it would have went down hill real quick, so we left it alone. real frustrating, but not everyone is cool to fish with.
Heeeeyyyyy...nice beaver. Thanks I just got it stuffed.

went there last Night around 12 and fished until close to 4 this morning.....and you guys missed out big time!!!.....the HARD HEAD WERE THICK!!!.....every cast out i was pulling them in left and right!!!...i didn't see one keeper ( trout, red, flounder) caught...nada....everyone kept saying the same thing....nothing but hard head.....but the bait was thick in the water so it was kind of a let down....well tight lines to all and stay safe...

the wife and I just got cleaned up from texas city dike, saw schools of mullet, that was a first, my first 2 casts were hang ups, lost my best tackle, the same went for my wife, we did catch 1 piggy and my wife caught something, it had small red dots around its mouth. we tried flots no bites, went to the beach side and caught 2 hard head so we just left. bummer of a night

we went around 6pm, we are not outfitted to fish at night yet, no lights. we were between people who had lights they were catching specs. between the bugs and losing our gear we just left. we went to the free pier today we caught the hell out of 2-3 inch gafftop, man it was hot.
