Have y’all ever fished with someone who just seems to always be lucky? I’m fortunate enough to have the luckiest angler I have ever seen as my fishing partner. My 7 yr old Action Jaxon has luck coursing through his veins like no angler I have ever fished with. Saturday Jaxon broke some more records and we weren’t even fishing for the species. This one was a Hybrid. I’ve caught lots of hybrids while dragging for catfish but never one this big! The thread fin were spawning on the south end of the lake and we would have caught tons of eaters no doubt, but I was tired of anchoring so we went looking for the early summer pattern to drag. We checked the mid lake humps first and didn’t see much. Went and checked the points next and that was the ticket. We set up shallow and put the nose of the boat into the wind and pulled our parks planers out onto the point towards deep water. We caught fish from 4 ft out to 40. Hooking a big hybrid will make you think you have a toad on for a little while. They are a lot of fun to catch.

Man that is a big'ole hybrid. I want take that boy of yours out fishing with me... Let him show me how to fish, I obviously have no freaking idea what I am doing. For the last 60 years are more I just knew I did. Then I start hanging out here on the TFF in the catfish section and I get the brutal truth splashed all over my cell phone lol. Thank goodness I don't have a bigger screen to view all this lol.
Jax, that is the biggest hybrid this Oldman has ever seen and I have seen more than a few. You are one talented young man sir. Your dad is ok too, just don't tell him that lol.
What a post. This thread and that one that Catfish Tim tacked up of him being at the right spot right time, just about hangs it all out for the rest of us to follow...
