Put down disease x and peat today. I know you love peat, but at the end of the day it's trash. Yes it is acidic. The acidic value is short lived and it doesn't breakdown easily if any at all. It can also make that top layer of topsoil hydrophobic. You would be better off spreading something like Mushroom compost. I think it's 6.5ish Ph and would supply much better nutrients than peat. On the same rant Milo is garbage. Running a 6-4-0 and waiting for microbobes to break it down and available is a whole process I'm not willing to wait on. 0 Potassium is a no go for me.

Made my 2nd application of fertilizer yesterday (AS / 20.5-0-0). Used the same setting as last year that worked perfect for 2.5 lbs. per 1000 sq. ft., but the fertilizer was a different source and the Prill size was not the same. After one pass I had only put out 10 lbs. ![mad mad](/forums/images/graemlins/default/mad.gif) . I made a small adjustment and went a different direction on the second pass and weighed the fertilizer that was left, and I had put down 24 lbs. for 10,000 sq. ft.. That`s almost .5 lbs. of N per 1000 and close enough for me.

After using fertilizer this year, I got bald spot. The good grass is growing, the weeds and whatnot, not so much. What can I put down that will be safe for me to mow and also allow for the grass to grow in the barren locations.

I'd rake the barren area to remove anything weak, then put down a mix of compost and topsoil. You could then water in some bermuda seed in that area.

Thank you...was thinking something similar to this. Rake, then till with compost, then topsoil with Bermuda. Cover with some hay to help lock in moisture.

Pull plugs from the good area and put in the bare. Fill the spots you pulled the plugs from with sand and the bermuda will cover those spots in no time.
